Doctor

  • Anna Y Chan , DVM

Dr. Anna Y. Chan is the primary veterinarian at Abraham Veterinary Clinic and has been practicing veterinary medicine for more than seventeen years. The practice owner since 1997, Dr. Chan has continued to offer and enhance the compassionate care that Dr. Robert Abraham, the founding veterinarian, provided his clients for twenty years.

Dr. Chan focuses on providing primary care to dogs and cats and has developed extensive experience in treating geriatric pets. Dr. Chan also practices traditional Chinese medical techniques such as acupuncture. Dr. Chan emphasizes spending time with clients, talking about the details of their pet's medical needs and condition.

Before taking over fully for Dr. Abraham, Dr. Chan worked as a relief veterinarian at Abraham Veterinary Clinic as well as other clinics in the Austin area for six years. Prior to her experiences in Austin, Dr. Chan practiced for two years in Las Vegas, NV and provided veterinary care for such notables as Jerry Lewis and David Copperfield. Dr. Chan received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Chan and her husband, Ben, and their toddler son, Reece, enjoy playing with their Welsh Pembroke Corgi, Anakin. They are thrilled to welcome  infant son Jaden Cole to the  family. It's a  full house with an independent black and white cat, Princess Leia and a boisterous, fun-loving medium-haired cat named Wedge. The newest pet addition to the family is a polydactyly (he has up to seven digits per paw) tabby known as Admiral Ackbar. Dr. Chan's interests outside of veterinary medicine include playing soccer and cooking.
